1、堅持用英語教英語,用英語組織課堂教學。
用英語教英語有著十分重要的意義，可以說是英語教學成敗的關鍵。用英語教英語有利于提高學生的聽力水平，有利于向學生提供大量說英語的示范，便于學生口頭模仿，有利于激發學生說英語的欲望，并提高學生學習英語的興趣。教師從一開始就要多說英語，用英語組織教學。一開始學生可能不習慣，也聽不懂，教師就可以借助實物、圖片、模型，配以手勢、動作、表情等手段來幫助學生理解。關鍵是一定要堅持說下去，只要教師堅持說英語，學生就會逐漸提高聽的能力，不懂的句子漸漸聽懂了，不熟悉的話語漸漸聽熟悉了，不清楚的詞語漸漸聽清楚了。聽力理解提高了，開口說就有了依據和保證。沒有足夠聽的實踐是不可能開口說的，所以關鍵是教師一定要堅持說英語，用英語教英語。
2、鼓勵學生開口說英語。說英語的能力只能通過說的實踐才能逐漸培養起來，所以教師應該多給學生開口說英語的實踐機會。要鼓勵學生大膽開口，誰越是敢說，多說，誰就越早學會說英語。學生開始說英語時，免不了會有些緊張、害怕、害羞，教師應熱情鼓勵，及時幫助，適當引導，鼓勵學生說下去。一個輕松、寬松的環境，一張和藹可親的面容，一個鼓勵、期待的眼神，都能幫助學生順利地說英語。每當學生能正確地說想要表達的意思時，教師要以加肯定和鼓勵，對口語表達能力有所提高的學生，教師要及時表揚，使學生看到自己的進步，真正感到鼓舞和愉快，并產生自信心和主動性，進一步努力想方設法去提高說的能力。3、注意改錯的藝術。學生初學說英語，出錯是難免的，因此教師應注意改錯的藝術性。有的教師習慣于一發現錯誤就立即打斷學生，進行直接糾正，并要學生重復教師的正確句子。這種改錯的方法不是不能用，而是不宜多用，因為它往往給學生造成思想壓力，不利調動學生參與口語實踐的積極性。教師的改錯要有 選擇，對一些小錯，尤其是學生不熟練而造成的口誤就不宜有錯必糾，因為隨著學生口語表達能力的提高，這些錯誤會自行得到糾正的。即使需要糾錯，也最好由學生自己糾正。例如學生說she always does his（×）homework and……時，教師可以微微搖頭，學生就會立刻意識到口述有語而重新什么敘述。當學生說到……her homework……時，教師微微點頭，這個小錯就由學生自己糾正了。當學生說英語出現了嚴重錯誤時，則必須糾正。但也應該注意保護學生的自尊心和學習英語的積極性，切忌粗暴打斷，更不能訓訴指責。這時更好采取間接糾正的方法.4、向學生介紹西方文化背景，提高學生的語用能力。
